February 7, 2012 Board Meeting Agenda Item #29 Title APPROVAL OF EXPULSION CASE NO. 12-221 Description On December 14, 2011, the student listed in Expulsion Case No. 12-221, violated School Board Policy 5.32, Zero Tolerance, School Board Policy 5.34(1)(d), Battery on Another Student, and School Board Policy 5.34(1)(d), Robbery.  It is the recommendation of the Superintendent and the Hearing Officer that the student be expelled from the Sarasota County Schools until June 15, 2013. Recommendation That in accordance with provisions of Sections 1006.07(1)(a)(b), Florida Statutes and School Board Policy 5.34, the holding of a hearing having been requested by the student/parent, the recommendation as specified by the Hearing Officer in Expulsion Case No. 12-221, to expel the student referenced therein from the Sarasota County Schools, be approved effective immediately for the remainder of the 2011-2012 academic year, the 2012 summer session, and the entire 2012-2013 academic year.
